Bioactive clerodane diterpenes of giant goldenrod (Solidago gigantea Ait.) root extract

• First time HPTLC- Fusarium avenaceum bioassay using mycelium suspension HPTLC-EDA combined with HPTLC-DART-HRMS and HPTLC-ESI-HRMS Preparative-scale isolation of eight multipotent clerodane diterpenes cholinesterase, glucosidase, amylase microbial inhibitory potential compounds Giant goldenrod ( Solidago gigantea Ait.) root extract was screened for bioactive by high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC), coupled effect-directed analysis including antibacterial Bacillus subtilis F1276, B. subsp. spizizenii, Aliivibrio fischeri Xanthomonas euvesicatoria ), antifungal ) enzyme inhibition (acetyl- butyrylcholinesterases, α- β-glucosidases α-amylase) assays. Compounds six zones (Sg1-Sg6) were characterized HPTLC-heated electrospray ionization-high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) HPTLC-Direct Analysis in Real Time-HRMS. Apart from zone Sg3, containing three compounds, a single characteristic compound detectable each zone. The bioassay-guided preparative-scale flash liquid provided that identified NMR spectroscopy as diterpenes. All isolates possessed inhibiting activity against at least one the tested microorganisms.
